COKEMAKING OF THE IMPROVED QUALITY FROM MODIFIED COAL CHARGE AT ALCHEVSK METALLURGICAL PLANT

Abstract
The research results of improving the qualitative characteristics of blast furnace coke by modifying bulk and compressed charge in production have been presented. The modification of the charge was carried out by introducing finely ground corundum materials into it. The batch is modified by introducing fine-grain electrocorundum and carborundum (silicon carbide). It has been shown that the introduction of free-burning additives at certain concentrations (0.25 %) makes it possible to influence the processes occurring at the stage of the plastic state in order to improve the strength properties of coke.
