Comparison Of Intra Medullary Locking Nail And Minimally Invasive Percutaneous Plate Osteosynthesis By LCP In Treatment Of Distal Tibial Fractures –Prospective Study
Journal Title: International Journal of Orthopaedics Traumatology & Surgical Sciences - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
Because of sub cutaneous location and proximity to ankle joint, distal tibial fracture pose a significant challenge to Orthopedics surgeon and cannot be managed by following simple set of rules. With the advent of newer implant the recent advances to manage this fractures are intra medullary locking nail and mippo by LCP. We have conducted prospective mullticentric study between feb2017 to march2018 .23 patients with distal 1/3 tibial fracture with out intraarticular involvement ware included in study. 13 patients were male and 10 were female between the age group of 21 to 62 years . 13 patient were treated by intra medullary and 10 patients were managed with LCP by mippo technique. Follow up was done at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 8 weeks,12 weeks, 24 weeks and 48 weeks. All the patients had complete union between 16 weeks to 28 weeks with functional out come between excellent and good in patients. There there were 3cases of superficial infection in LCP group patients and 1 case of superficial infection in proximal bolt of IMN. 2 cases of delay union and 3 cases of restricted ankle movments were found which recovered with physiotherapy

Intramedullary Fixation Of Middle-Third Clavicle Fractures Using Titanium Elastic Nails – A Retrospective Study
Background: Middle-third clavicle fractures in adults have traditionally been treated nonoperatively. Recent studies in the literature have shown a higher prevalence of symptomatic malunion, nonunion, and poor functional...
Functional And Radiological Outcome Of Bicondylartibial Plateau Fractures Treated With Single Lateral 3.5Mm Periarticular Locking Plate: A Retrospective Study
Introduction: Bicondylartibial plateau fractures results from high energy injury and consists of 20% of all tibialplateu fractures. Treatment of bicondylartibial plateau fractures is challenging and still controversial....
Functional Outcome In The Management Of Distal Humerus Fracture With Open Reduction And Y-Plate Fixation
Fractures of the distal end of the humerus account for 2–6% of all fractures and for about 30% of all elbow fractures in adults. The complexity of the elbow joint and its subcutaneous position makes these fractures diffi...
Comparative study between results of orthogonal vs parallel plating in treatment of distal humerus fracture
Background: The study was conducted to evaluate the outcome of the parallel plating system and orthogonal plating system in distal humerus intraarticular fracture Material and Methods: 30 patients of age between 18 to...
Radiographic Morphometry Of Distal End Of Radius, A Retrospective, Observational Study In Indian Population
Background: Distal end of radius fracture is a common fracture due to fall on outstretched hand (15 per 100 fracture patients). Reduction of this fracture is generally assessed by four morphometric measurements of the di...
