Comparison of social support in brain tumor patients and healthy subjects

Abstract
The purpose of this study was comparing the social support in patients with brain tumor and normal individuals. Study method is causal–comparative. The sample consisted of 32 patients with brain tumor that was selected by convenience sampling and 32 normal individuals too. Data were collected in this study,by questionnaire of phillips social support (SSA). Data were analyzed by SPSS, and is used from t-test, analyze of one-way variance and analyze of two-way variance. The finding showed that there is no significant difference in social support in patient with brain tumor and normal individuals. Gender and marital status are not effective factors in social support. Components of social support do not differ in different age groups in patients with brain tumor. Based on our findings, it is suggest that in future research, disease duration and disease severity used in the analysis and Social support programs to be implemented for patients with drug therapy.
