COMPARISON OF TEMPERATURE PROPERTIES OF CAPACITIVE VOLTAGE DIVIDERS WITH DIFFERENT CONSTRUCTION OF HIGH VOLTAGE SECTION

Abstract

This article presents results of comparison of two capacitive voltage divider constructions designed and made in the cooperation between the High Voltage and EMC Department of Electrical Faculty of the Warsaw University of Technology and the High-Current Laboratory of the Institute of Power Engineering. The first construction based on strontium ceramic capacitors and the second one on polypropylene foil capacitors. Low-voltage sections of the both tested dividers were made of polypropylene foil capacitors. The dividers were tested at three different temperatures obtained in a simple climate chamber. During linearity tests in ambient and increased temperatures output voltages of the tested dividers were measured and recorded simultaneously with voltage from reference divider. The results allow to determine the linearity of the divider ratio and its dependence on temperature.
