Comportamento informacional no uso de sistemas de informação: o caso do SICOR

Abstract
This study aims to analyze the informational behavior of users of the Integrated Purchasing and Budgeting System (SICOR) used by the employees of Londrina State University (UEL). Among the 277 active users identified, 40 (14.44%) employees participated in the survey. Data collection encompassed characterizations of participants, use of computerized systems, informational needs and information search. Results indicated that most users are female, the average age is 47 years old, and 75% have attended a specialization course. It was also possible to verify that most of them had contact with information technology for many years. Moreover, users in general were found to recognize when information is needed for the execution of work, and they find the information and redo the searching plan if necessary.
