CONSTRUCTION OF CYBER SECURITY DISCOURSE: ANALYSIS OF SONY PICTURES HACK NEWS

Abstract
In this study representation of cyber attacks against Sony Pictures at US media was studied. Within this framework, with liberal and conservative bias two US newspapers was chosen. The construction and functioning of dominant discourse during the of cyber attack against Sony Pictures was analysed in the context of cyber security. In this study the main argument is media outlets not only contribute to the dissemination of cyber terrorism threat but also contribute discursive construction of this threat. The discursive construction of terrosim threat bring with counterterrorism discourse. The construction of terrorism discourse was analysed by critical discourse analysis method. Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis method was chosen as a research method of this study.
