Consumer and food related risks in the area of food safety in the European Union

Abstract
The paper presents main food related risks and problems that have effect on food safety from consumer’s point of view in EU market. The aim of the research is to indicate the principal factors of food purchase in European Union and to define the consumer attitude towards the safety of food while purchasing and consuming food products. The authoress makes the analysis of consumer’s situation in the area of food safety, indicating the main risks and problems associated with food safety in different EU Member States.
