Contemporary Biopower And Biosociality

Abstract

An analysis on the contemporary biopower brings significant mutations in the area health and health managing technologies. Instead of approaching this as merely medical technologies or technologies of health, it became the technology of life. Health became one of the key ethical values by the second ha lf of twenty-first century. In the contemporary ethical regimes, health was understood as an imperative, for the self and for others. Through contemporary forms of biomedical subjectification medicines took a long role in shaping subjectivites. The paper focus on the notion of Biosociality, which make us what kind of people we have become.
