CONTRIBUTION A L’ETUDE PHYSICO-CHIMIQUE DES EAUX SUPERFICIELLES DE L’OUED MOULOUYA (MAROC ORIENTAL)

Journal Title: Larhyss Journal - Year 2011, Vol 9, Issue 9

Abstract

The study concerns the analysis of physicochemical parameters (T°, pH, E.C, MIS, O2, DBO5, DCO, Cl-, PO43-, NH4+ et NO3-) along the river to establish a Moulouya diagnosis of the state of pollution of surface waters of this river. Thus, water withdrawals were made at thirteen stations of studies in the wet season and dry season. The results show that the stations which discharge wastewater from cities of Missour, Outat El Haj, Tindit and Guercif, there is an increase in levels of DBO5, PO43-, chloride, DCO and decrease in dissolved oxygen especially in dry periods. Moreover, the evolution of the levels of MIS and DCO between upstream and downstream of the dam Hassan II during the wet season, we confirmed the importance of this dam in the diminished capacity of the river to remove the pollutants to the middle and lower Moulouya. The interpretation of data, the correlation between different parameters and the distribution of study sites in groups according to the degree of contamination are performed by the standardized principal component analysis. Moreover, the degree of pollution varies from one station to another depending on the distance away from the pollution source.
