CONTRIBUTION ILLIA KYRIYAK IN DIDACTIC SOFTWARE UKRAINIAN EDUCATION IN CANADA

Abstract

The article analyzes the development of didactic software native language Ukrainian Canadian school system in the first half of the XX-th century, whose experience deserves study and practical use. The problem of improving the regulatory and methodological basis of Ukrainian education remains relevant. The article aims to clarify the contribution of UkrainianCanadian teacher, writer, public figure I.Kyriyaka in providing didactic teaching Ukrainian language and other subjects of Ukrainian Canadian definite period. The author reveals the peculiarities of educational activities I.Kyriyaka in public primary education in Canada, whose task was the assimilation of immigrants and education of real citizens .Attention is focused on the role of Ukrainian I.Kyriyaka in private schools. Analyzed the main provisions of the «Plan of Ukrainian science in native schools» (1935) and the content and features of reader «Mary» (1947). Methodological principles of research are principles of historicism, objectivity, combining logical and historical, systemic. An analysis of educational activities I.Kyriyak gives reason to believe that it was an important part of ensuring the maintenance of a didactic educational process in Ukrainian education system Canada 30-40-ies. In particular, he development the first training program of Ukrainian subjects in native schools (1935) and issued Reader «Mary» (1947), which became a notable contribution to the development of education in the Diaspora. Further research deserves I.Kyriyaka work as a teacher and writer to preserve the purity and culture of the Ukrainian language in polylingual environment.
