Abstract

Doliopria Kieffer is a cosmopolitan genus of parasitoid wasps with mirmecophiles habits. Information about their species is sparse and scattered. The present work is a contribution to the knowledge of the Doliopria species for the Neotropic. In this sense, entomological material from different countries of America was reviewed, as well as from different regions of Venezuela that are deposited in the Museum of the Institute of Agricultural Zoology (MIZA) of the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), Maracay, Aragua state. For the identification of the species, the data contained in the labels were reviewed and the morphological characteristics of each specimen were evaluated. As a result, ten new species unpublished to science are described, called D. truncuscornu sp. nov., D. sella sp. nov., D. meridana sp. nov., D. limongii sp. nov., D. larensis sp. nov., D. cuyaguensis sp. nov., D. triacantha sp. nov., D. trituberculata sp. nov., D. andensis sp. nov. and D. cristata sp. nov., which based on characters common to them allowed to group them into a group of species called “cornibus”. Biological and distribution data of the species are provided, additionally keys are presented for the separation of both sexes of these and drawings and photographs are shown that help identification.
