Controversial issues in Ukrainian-Moldovan relations (1991-2016): history and prospects of settlement

Abstract
The article described the main controversial issues that arose in the Ukrainian-Moldovan cooperation since their independence untill nowadays. It also found the cause of these issues and proved the necessity to solve them. Attention paid to special friendliness of Ukrainian-Moldovan relations on the background of the common foreign policy challenges and prospects, despite the existing problems. Deals with the cause of the debt of Ukraine to Moldova in the early independence of States. Described problem of artillery ammunition in Moldovan village Kovbasna, which is situated near Ukrainian border, outlined the history of the problem and accentuated the need for its immediate resolution. Particular attention is paid to property disputes between states, potential danger of uncertain status of Transnistria and the problems of resettlement, delimitation and demarcation of the Ukrainian-Moldovan border. Documents of the legal framework of Ukraine, bilateral agreements, articles in periodicals Ukrainian and foreign journals, reports and analytical work of scientists served as sources for the article.
