COOPERAŢIA RURALĂ - O ŞANSĂ PENTRU REVIGORAREA SATULUI ROMÂNESC

Abstract
Mişcarea cooperatistă îşi are rădăcinile în localitatea engleză Rochdale, unde în decembrie 1844 a luat fiinţă „Societatea pionierilor cinstiţi din Rochdale (Rochdale Society of Equitable Pioners). Intuind transformările economice şi sociale viitoare, precum şi antagonismele sociale ce vor apare în Franţa, Saint Simon (1760-1825) şi Charles Fourie (1772-1837) au promovat ideile cooperatiste de la iniţiatorii acestora devenind rapid un model pentru întreaga Europă. În anul 1985 s-a constituit „Alianţa Cooperatistă Internaţională (ACI)”, la care România a fost membru fondator. În concepţia ACI, cooperativa este „o asociaţie autonomă de persoane, venite în mod voluntar, în scopul satisfacerii nevoilor şi aspiraţiilor de natură economică, socială şi culturală, prin intermediul unei instituţii deţinută în comun şi controlată în mod democratic”. Valorile ce stau la baza cooperativelor sunt: ajutorarea, democraţia, egalitatea, echitatea şi solidaritatea.
