COPPER AND PAEDIATRIC NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS: A MINIREVIEW
Journal Title: World Journal of Pharmaceutical Research - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 3
Abstract
Copper is one of the essential elements for maintaining normal physiological activity of multiple essential enzymes as cytochrome coxidase, superoxide-dismutase and dopamine-β-hydroxylase. Enzymes deficiencies result in severe neurological symptoms and serious neurological diseases, some of them has been present for more than a century now. In this mini-review, I aim to provide a synopsis of current knowledge regarding copper related disorders and available lines of management which may improve the overall outcome in case of early recognition and prompt intervention.
