Correlation analysis of corn Genotypes morphological traits
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2012, Vol 3, Issue 12
Abstract
Ten corns Genotype were evaluated in a randomized complete block design with four replications in two separate experiments under dryland and supplemental irrigation in 2011. Results of ANOVA showed significant differences among hybrids for all of traits in both condition (P < 0.01). Correlation between all measured treatments has been calculated and given in Table 5. Base on this matter, except Plant height, all traits had positive and meaningful correlation with Yield. Results showed that Yield had positive and significant difference with all traits at 0.01 percentage levels except Plant height that with this trait had at 0.05 percentage levels. Also results showed that the most correlation was among kernel per ear and row per ear (r= 0.985**). Among all hybrids, BC678 (7.68 t ha–1) and BC404 (7.44 t ha–1) had the highest produced the highest yields in optimal and stress conditions, respectively.
