Abstract
The article considers and justifies the criteria and indicators for assessing the levels of coherent speech of younger preschoolers. The content of the selected criteria is revealed, such as psychological indicators of which are: motivational interest in the dialogue, position of the speaker, emotional expressiveness; a meaningful criterion with indicators of the adequacy of the vocabulary, information and integrity; operational criteria with indicators phonetic correctness, grammatical correctness, independence
