CRITERIA, INDICATORS AND LEVELS OF FORMATION OF THE PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE OF FUTURE TRANSLATORS IN THE AVIATION INDUSTRY

Abstract
The paper considers the fact that the formed communicative competencies are important for various specialties constituting an important component of the diagnostic apparatus/ criteria for assessing the levels of formation of the professional and communicative competence of future translators in the aviation industry. The author justifies the professional communication of the translator on the basis of three criteria: practical l, theoretical and communicative. The definition of "criterion" in the aviation industry is specified. This is a set of pronounced features of the pedagogical process, which allows for a qualitative assessment of the current pedagogical phenomenon. The theoretical, practical and communicative criteria are singled out, which is determined by the composition of subcompetence, which are components of professional communication competence and the result of its formation. The main indicators of the theoretical criterion is the system of knowledge are outlined based on the knowledge component of each subcompetence: the functions and structure of the language; linguistic norms, specific usage in communication and idiomatic structures; genealogical and typological classification of languages of the world; key concepts and terminology of linguistics; peculiarities of translation activity; subject and tasks, the basic concepts of theory; lexical-grammatical features of the translation of texts of different genres; methods of translation of terms; peculiarities of subject-matter translation, topical problems of translation studies; individual psychological peculiarities of a person, which determine the specificity of the choice of means and strategies of communication; functions, forms and varieties of official communication; features of using verbal and non-verbal influence on a business partner; communicative positions, models, business communication styles; the main stages of the historical development of the literary process as a whole system, the evolution of literature in the whole perspective, conditioned by both purely literary and extra-linguistic factors; on various theoretical approaches to intercultural communication and methodology for solving intercultural problems; basic terms and conditions of the theory of intercultural communication; characteristic features of Ukrainian culture and cultures of native speakers of the English language; sociocultural conditionality of translation activity; main grammatical problems of scientific and technical translation, particularly, of aviation subjects texts; basic lexical, terminological and genre-stylistic features of English and Ukrainian texts on civil aviation; methods of translation of terminology units; structure and main directions of activity of national and international civil aviation organizations; the main terms and abbreviations used in the activities of national and international civil aviation organizations. The main indicators of a practical criterion are the following skills: to identify the classification features of languages (according to genealogical and typological classifications); to identify the necessary information and understand the content of the source text in various types of reading (tutorial, educational, selective/viewable) using all forms of reading (aloud, silent, mixed type); produce clear, content and logical construction texts, the linguistic design of which corresponds to the stylistic norms of both languages, is characterized by lexical richness and a variety of grammatical forms and designs; text-forming skills; to forecast communicative behavior of people with different types of temperament and character in situations of business interaction, to use appropriate strategies and methods of constructive regulation of conflicts in business and professional spheres; vision of the evolution of literature in the whole perspective; to apply the results of research on the theory of intercultural communication to the solution of modern linguistic problems; work with general, polytechnic and special sources of information for the purpose of obtaining additional information (background knowledge) concerning the problems of the original text; to use Internet resources of general and special scientific purposes, drawn up in the form of electronic libraries, dictionaries, encyclopedias, informational blogs and personal sites of scholars; to perform various forms and types of industry-related translation, which are characterized by a high level of equivalence and adequacy; to have the vocabulary of civil aviation terminology. Considering the above and taking into account these indicators, the author proves that the criteria, indicators and levels of formation of the professional and communicative competence of future translators in the aviation industry can be represented and described by combination of elementary (low), productive (average) and reference (high) levels?
