CURRENT ISSUES OF SOCIAL AND HUMANITARIAN EDUCATION OF STUDENTS AT LVIV NATIONAL AGRARIAN UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Introduction. In the context of the reform of the higher education system in Ukraine and its unification to European and international standards the problem of social-humanitarian training has to be seen in a quite new perspective. The main competencies of the modern professional involve not only knowledge and skills, but also creativity, capacity for innovation, independent decision-making, responsibility, teamwork, leadership skills, ethical and social responsibility, self-development and self- reflection. The formation of these qualities is impossible without adequate social and humanitarian training. Methods. The study is based on analytical, analytical and synthetic, systematic methods. Results. The urgent problems relevant to developing and implementing social-humanitarian training of students in agricultural higher educational institutions on the example of the Lviv National Agrarian University are analyzed. The article aims to highlight the achievements as well as real obstacles and shortcomings in its implementation, considering the danger of dehumanization of the higher education. In particular, attention is focused on the features of construction of the learning process, its semantic, active and methodological components, as well as the necessity of a comprehensive solution of the problem. Discussion. Further research could be conducted to determine the organic relationship between professional and social-humanitarian preparations of future professionals, its results could be provided for the development of governmental and industry standards of higher education, curricula and programs disciplines.
