DETERMINANTS OF CHOICE OF FUNCTIONAL FOODS IN HOUSEHOLDS FROM WEST POMERANIA PROVINCE

Abstract

The aim of the study was to identify the factors determining the choices made by consumers in relation to functional foods. The survey was conducted in June and July 2016 years on a group of 115 inhabitants of the province of West Pomeranian province using CAPI and PAPI methods. To carry out the study was used an authors’ a questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed by comparing the percentages of response, taking into account some factors volatility and verifying the hypothesis of independence of variables using the χ2 test and contingency factors. The obtained results indicate that increasing consumer awareness identified in all social groups can be seen as a factor in the development of the market for functional foods.<br/><br/>
