Determinants of selective collection of waste paper and cardboard in Poland

Abstract
Determinants of selective collection of waste paper and cardboard in Poland. Limitations of resources, as well as the concern for natural environment compel paper industry to a wider substitution of wood pulp with recycled paper pulp. One of the sources of this valuable material is municipal waste, from the first of January 1997 embraced by the system of selective waste collection. The article presents determinants of this selective waste paper collection divided into four groups: technological, organizational and economic, legal and behavioural. In order to diagnose the situation and determine the key industry problems analysis of the previously identified determinants has been made.
