Determination of angle of attack for rotating blades
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2012, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
For a rotating blade the flow passing by a blade section is bended due to the rotation and the local flow field is influenced by the bound circulation on the blade. As a further complication, 3-D effects from tip and root vortices do a precise definition of the angle of attack (AOA) a difficult task. Two methods for determining the AOA on rotating blade from velocity and pressure measurements are presented.

A new approach in the numerical simulation for the blood flow in large vessels
In this paper we are proposing a new approach in the numerical simulation of the blood flow in large vessels. The initial conditions are set to be compatible with the non-Newtonian model used. Numerical experiments in st...
CFD analysis for road vehicles - case study
This is a case study on the influence of the lower part of road vehicles on the global drag characteristics. Reducing overall drag by redesigning the lower part of the road vehicles has a potential of almost 20% in the o...
Guidance Optimization for Tactical Homing Missiles and Air Defense Systems
The aim of this paper is to develop a functional approach to optimize the engagement effectiveness of the tactical homing missiles and air defense systems by utilizing the differential geometric concepts. In this paper t...
Some Aspects Regarding the Modeling of Highly Pressurized Squeeze Film Dampers
Squeeze film dampers (SFD) have been used for many years to control vibration in gas turbines and other high-speed rotating machinery. The overall objective of this paper is to present the analysis and validation of a dy...
Numerical analysis for the influence of the geometrical and mechanical parameters on the stiffness and strength of the composite bolted joints
The paper deals with the influence of the geometric (joint clearance) and mechanical parameters (bolt preload, axial force applied to the joint) on the stiffness and strength of the single-bolt, single-shear laminated co...
