Determination of Financial Behavior and Attitudes of University Students: A Survey on Perceptions of Financial Literacy

Abstract

Basically, financial literacy defines the efficiency of decisions taken by individuals in making selection financial instruments in the individuals’ life. Nowadays, every individual having money can take small or big decisions about the things to be able to be bought with money by individuals in question. What is important is that taken decisons are conscious and their results are useful for individual, society and economic life. On the other hand, In terms of providing a significant contribution to the economic life, It is necessary that Increasing the individuals savings and realizing successfully the management of risks likely to be faced with. For this purpose, increasing the level of financial information across all segments of society is of importance. In this context, as well as the level of financial information, situations such as individuals’ consumption habits, their life experiences and their educations have an impact on individuals in making financial decisions. In today's world Where Financial products offer diversity so much, that determination of individuals' perceptions on the subject of financial literacy in conjunction with abovementioned factors is important. In this study, in order to determine How financial literacy perception of undergraduate degree students in Manisa Celal Bayar University affect their financial behaviors and attitudes, Survey study has been made over the selected scale. The findings achieved in the result of research have been described with the frequency distribution method.
