Determination of Material Thicknesses in Protective Clothing for Firefighters
Journal Title: Fibres and Textiles in Eastern Europe - Year 2018, Vol 26, Issue 2
Abstract
The basic protective clothing for firefighters does not contact the flame and provides a relatively short exposure time to heat flux of prescribed density. Simultaneously the structure is subjected to sweat diffusion from the skin. The problem is determined mathematically by means of second-order differential equations accompanied by a set of boundary and initial conditions. Determination of the material thicknesses is gradient oriented. The optimal thicknesses are determined as a numerical example.

Real-time Segmentation of Yarn Images Based on an FCM Algorithm and Intensity Gradient Analysis
This paper presents a new method for real-time segmentation of yarn images which are captured by a real-time image acquisition device. The first frame of the images is clustered by the local average intensity and entropy...

Starch Film as a Carrier of a Model Drug Substance from the Group of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs
The article describes the production of starch film as a carrier of a model drug substance from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). An analgesic/anti- inflammatory drug was put into aqueous starc...
Low-Formaldehyde Hydrophobic Cum Crease Resistant Finishing of Woven Silk Fabric
In the present study, a low-formaldehyde based hydrophobic cum crease resistant finishing of woven silk fabric was developed with a comparison of three commercially available cross-linkers (i.e., Knittex RCT[sup]®[/sup],...
Antioxidant Activity of Fibres Originating from Traditional Varieties of Polish Flax Plants
This paper describes the examination of raw flax fibres in terms of their antioxidant activity. Fibres originating from five varieties of flax plants cultivated in Poland: Artemida, Modran, Sara, Nike and Luna were extra...
