Determination of the pre-defective state of element of metal constructions at fatigue failure by magnetometric methods.

Abstract

The paper has proved the relevance and substantiation of the use of magnetometric methods for diagnostics of the defect state of metal structures. The causal relationship between the occurrence of the defect state with fatigue failure, the stress-strain state in the defect zone and the magnetic characteristics of the metal of this zone are given. It is determined that the magnetic characteristics of the metal are not only structurally sensitive, but also carry information on the previous deformation processes that took place in a certain region of the metal. The results of the test of a method based on the use of residual magnetization of a metal (a method of magnetic memory of a metal) for the diagnostics of the defect state of steel structures are presented.
