Determined of effectiveness of the use of traps againts the Ceratitis capitata Wied. (Diptera: Tephritidae) in Okitsu wase mandarin and relationship between fruit pomological characteristics and infestation

Abstract

This study was conducted in Okitsu wase mandarin orchard which are supposed to be hosts of Mediterranean Fruit Fly, Ceratitis capitata Wied. (Diptera:Tephritidae) through 2013-2014 in Adana (Balcalı). The study was conducted in the orchards, Okitsu wase mandarin of cultivar has been indicate between pomological characteristic revealed that the maturation of mandarin and with the infected fruits and the effectiveness of the use of traps are identified. The study of result was high correlation between TSS/TA, titretable acidity and with infected fruit. While was low correlation between the weight, width (mm) and length (mm) of fruit and with infected fruit, the fruit juice content (%) was almost no. This study was conducted, the first infested fruit was found the last week of August, the first week of September. The study of result, the used of trap effectiveness was determined to be average %95.
