Abstract
Our study, “Directorate of Skopje Evkaf in the Ottoman Empire Period” is about the Directorate of Skopje Evkaf which was established as a local organization of the Ministery of Evkaf of Ottoman Empire during the Ottoman period. In Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, many foundations of education, social services and etc. were established in region during the Ottoman Empire period. In order to organize the administrations of these foundations and to provide communication with related ministry, the Directorate of Skopje Evkaf was established during Tanzimat period. In our work, we will try to give information about establishment, affiliation, authority, institutional structure, duties, revenues, expenses and supervision of the Directorate of Skopje Evkaf. Our work is based on Ottoman archives. We try to examine the Directorate of Skopje Evkaf, in a whole, with the information we have determined one by one from the archive documents through the method of inductive method.
