Dylemat rozumu scholastycznego: racjonalne kontra socjologiczne rekonstrukcje rozwoju wiedzy

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to answer, according to Pierre Bourdieu’s „very French” theory, to the questions: What makes possible opposition like rational, versus sociological reconstruction of knowledge? Above all, what are the consequences and limitations such a formula? From the accepted point of view, I argue it is „scholastic reason” (term proposed by Bourdieu) which is responsible for problematization in that way. But if we assume that „rationality” has its meaning outside epistemology, it seems, this opposition is a false problematization. I should not conclude without remaining, that social epistemology in Bourdieu style, is a form of critical philosophy, directed at philosophy itself.
