DYNAMICS WITHIN FORMATION LEVELS OF THE FUTURE CHINESE TRANSLATORS’ TRANSLATION COMPETENCE

Abstract

The dynamics within formation levels of the future Chinese translators’ translation competence is analyzed in the article. The means enabling verification of the experimental professional speech training efficiency targeted for the future translators of Chinese are characterized; the formation levels of the competencies comprising the integral future orientalists’ translation competence (high, sufficient, medium, low) were designated and specified. There are designated the constituents of the translation competence: linguistic competency with the indicators: lexical, gram-matical, phonological, functional-stylistic; linguosociocultural competency with the indicators: all-cultural, heterosocial intercultural, national-specific, ethno-traditional; speech and communicative competency with the indi-cators: audial, speech and perceptive, visual-perceptive, graphic and content-oriented; translation and discursive competency with the indicators: creative and tactic, translation-transformational, oral-transferring, written-transferring; specific technological competency with the indicators: lexicographic-searching, processual, instrumen-tal-technological, correcting-reproductive. The efficiency of the elaborated experimental professional speech training targeted for the future translators of Chinese was proved due to increase of their translation competence level. The elaborated and tested experimental professional training intended for the future translators of Chinese has proved the conception of the initiated pedagogical research regarding its integrity and dynamism as a system pos-sessing a structure, aim and contents within every educational level under conditions of a pedagogical establish-ment; it has facilitated a productive and constructive cooperation between students and teachers, from both Ukrainian and Chinese sides, within a pedagogical establishment. The results of the experimental education give enough reason to assert that the proposed model and exper-imental methods of the professional speech training intended for the future translators of Chinese are rational and perspective, they stimulate students for “polishing” their multilingual and cross-cultural awareness, intercultural speech evolution, development of cognitive-mental abilities; actualize their creativity, strategic-translation as well as searching-instrumental potential; facilitate students’ awareness regarding a social meaning of the translation activity within the context of multi-culturalism.
