Journal Title: Науковий вісник Південноукраїнського національного педагогічного університету імені К. Д. Ушинського - Year 2016, Vol 109, Issue 2
Abstract
The main task of the national contemporary high school is the formation of students’ activity- and practice- oriented knowledge, since without the knowledge formed at the level of readiness for its practical application during new practical situations, there may occur some difficulties in the process of teaching. Consequently, besides the formation of a certain amount of knowledge, the major task of high school training at this stage is the development of creative and mental abilities of a person as well as mastering the methodology of self-training. It is necessary to create the maximum suitable conditions for revelation and development of medical students’ abilities and independ- ence. The formation of the designated skills during the foreign language training of the future doctors is considered in the article. Taking into account the fact that the problem of quality at the modern stage of the educational process is of pri- mary importance nowadays, it has become evident that the interrelation between efficacy and systemacy facilitates knowledge usefulness. The presence of this knowledge enables a medical student to orientate himself in different professional situations and plan his / her activity. Hence, efficacy i.e. the ability to apply foreign communicative skills in the professionally oriented activity, to find various ways of their usage in a particular situation is the final result of the foreign language training in a higher medical educational institution. As long as gaining knowledge and skills is successful only after a complete cycle of cognitive actions such as perception, processing, remembering and application of the information, we can outline the stages of the process aimed at effective formation of knowledge as follows: 1) manifestation of basic skills and abilities; 2) formation of cognitive and professional motivation; 3) students’ realization and perception of the information concerning medical orientation of their activity; 4) comprehension of inner regularities and interrelations with other notions and phe- nomena learnt before; 5) summarizing and systematization of the notions according to practical experience; 6) prac- tical implementation of the gained knowledge. Introduction of the above-mentioned technology will allow forming new efficient knowledge more efficiently, which may facilitate the further formation of the necessary competencies. Тhus, there is a guaranteed increase in the quality of learning, activation of cognitive activity, development of mental abilities, formation of abilities and skills of independent mental activity.
