Effects of the impact of returning farmland to forests in Henan Province on grain production and farmers' income increase

Abstract
[Objective] The study was conducted to discuss the impact of returning farmland to forests in ten cities (districts) of Henan Province from 2011 to 2020 on grain production and farmers' income growth benefits. [Method] Data from 10 key cities (districts) in Henan Province from 2011 to 2020 were selected. Using the entropy weight TOPSIS model, establish an indicator system for grain production and farmers' income increase was established under the impact of returning farmland to forests, to evaluate its economic benefits. [Result] From 2011 to 2020, various standard areas of returning farmland to forests in Henan Province achieved positive results in overall grain production and farmers' income increase, but there is still room for further improvement. [Conclusion] The work of returning farmland to forests in Henan Province has achieved significant results, but further improvement of supporting policies is still needed to achieve higher economic benefits.
