ELEGY OF NIZAMI GANJAVI TO HIS SON

Abstract
The first source providing information about Nizami Ganjavi is a work of Mohammad Ovfi, the 13th century author, “Lubabul-albab”. The author of this memoirs talking about each of Nizami’s epics in one or two sentences said that he didn’t see his Divan (collection of poems) and included three lyric poems by this poet heard in Nishapur from an unknown person. One of the ghazal was presented under the note “Der mersiye-e-peser guyed” (دیوگ رسپ ءهیثرم رد) (“He has said in his elegy dedicated to his son”). It is become clear from this poem that Nizami had a son other than Mohammad. The article dealt with an analysis of the ghazal from the content and poetic system point of view and the author paid attention to its publication and translation history.
