ELIMINATION DU PYROGALLOL ET DU PHLOROGLUCINOL PAR LE SULFATE D’ALUMINIUM ET EFFET DE LA MINERALISATION

Abstract

The objective of this study is to observe the effectiveness of the coagulationflocculation with aluminum sulphate on the removal of trihydroxylic organic compounds. Testing Jar-test were performed on phenolic compounds (phloroglucinol and pyrogallol) dissolved in distilled water. The results indicate that the efficiency of the process depends on the chemical structure of organics and the reaction parameters (coagulant dosage, pH, mineralization of aqueous medium). The main mechanisms would be either physical adsorption or ligand exchange or complexing with the surface of aluminium hydroxide flocs.
