Abstract

Information technology is a requirement of the present, which makes it possible to create a knowledge-based society. Education in Ukraine has acquired new features: the computerization of the educational process prompts the revision of traditional forms and methods of foreign language teaching, the emergence of new forms of conducting lessons. The use of multimedia technologies in education has the following advantages over traditional teaching: the use of color graphics, animation, audio, hypertexts; constant updating. It admits the possibility of placing interactive web elements in the process of learning, such as, tests or a working notebook; admits the possibility of nonlinear passage of the material due to the set of hyperlinks. Mobile applications help shape spoken language skills, as well as learn vocabulary and grammar, providing real interest and, therefore, efficiency. Moreover, programs develop skills that are important not only to a foreign language. This, above all, is associated with mental operations: analysis, synthesis, abstraction, identification, comparison, comparison, verbal, semantic prediction and warning. Based on the study, we can conclude, that the use of computer technologies is not only a source of pleasure, but first of all, it is a way of obtaining information. In addition, we analyzed free applications for learning English. Mobile applications help to develop skills of speaking, vocabulary and grammar usage, provide real interest and, consequently, efficiency. Moreover, programs develop skills that are important not only for speaking a foreign language. This is primarily associated with mental operations: analysis, synthesis, abstraction, identification, comparison, juxtaposition, verbal, semantic prediction and warning. Thus, the skills and abilities that are formed with the help of information technologies go beyond the limits of foreign language competence, even within the framework of the "linguistic" aspect.
