Estimation of the motor development of children born too early throughout the first eighteen months of life

Abstract
The purpose of the work. The aim of the research was to estimate the so-called high motor activity development of both male and female children born before thirty seventh week of foetal age from the moment of raising the head and torso without anybody’s help till the moment of mastering the art of walking. Material. Material got for research on base of data included in cards of health of children.Results and conclusions. Analysis of the final results of the research has revealed that the length of foetal period and the body weight at birth time connected with it is the basic criterion for the motor development. The results of the research have shown the existence of accelerated development of children born too early with the appropriate body weight to foetal age and the tendency to catch up the children born at the right time. It was also observed that the greater body weight causes the smaller tension of legs’ muscles and makes the earlier standing up and walking easier, even in the case of shortened time of pregnancy.
