Abstract
The article reveals the meaning of the concept of “tolerance” and “ethnic tolerance”. It focuses on the need to develop the concept of formation of future teachers ethnic tolerance through the study of works by writers as the main factor of intensive development and spiritual enrichment. Ethnic tolerance is seen as a tolerant and respectful attitude to people of different ethnic groups and cultures. The role of children's literature in the formation of future teachers ethnic tolerance is revealed. The features of the educational process of the higher school on the formation of ethnic tolerance in the process of studying the discipline “Children literature” are revealed.
