European integration is the way to the development of the Ukrainian economy and the welfare of its citizens

Abstract
The main prospective and problem factors that influence the integration processes of Ukraine's accession into the European economic space are identified and summarized. Objective opportunities for the development of the Ukrainian economy are analyzed on the basis of a comparison of the main economic indicators of Ukraine and the Eastern countries - the new members of the European Union. The necessary measures to develop a strategic program of adaptation and implementation of domestic economic potential are proposed and justified; these measures will promote cooperation with the EU on a parity basis, increase the competitiveness of goods and services, and, hence, the welfare of Ukrainian citizens.
