Evaluation of changes in IOP and anterior chamber parameters post laser irodotomy using pentacam system
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 4
Abstract
ntroduction: Aim of the study was to evaluate IOP changes and anterior chamber parameters (depth and volume), in primary angle closure (PAC) cases after laser peripheral irodotomy (LPI) using Pentacam system in OPD patients at Govt. Medical College, Patiala. Material and Methods: Total 12 eyes of 12 PAC patients were analysed in the study in the period of 3 months from March 2017 to May 2017. LPI was performed on the enrolled eyes, Pentacam system was used to calculate anterior chamber and IOP changes pre and post 14 days of LPI treatment. Results: There was statistically significant difference before LPI and after LPI for all measured variables. The mean ACD and ACV increased by p=0.04 and p = 0.001 respectively in 12 patients. The mean IOP decreased in all eyes with p=0.03 at month 3 and thereafter. Conclusion: In conclusion, LPI produces significant anterior chamber depth & volume along with decrease in IOP making LPI effective in treatment of primary angle closure cases.
