Exacerbations of bronchial asthma in adult patients

Abstract
Introduction:Bronchial asthma is a respiratory disorder that affects lung ventilation and gas exchange. Therefore, continuous control and management of this pathology is essential to reduce clinical symptoms and improve the quality of life of patients. It is worth mentioning that the role of the respiratory therapist is to implement respiratory techniques and treatments that lead to maintaining control of your symptoms. Objective:Determine the incidence of bronchial asthma exacerbations in the adult population caused by active smoking. Materials and methods:This study has a quantitative approach and uses a descriptive, cross-sectional, correlational-causal, non-experimental and retrospective design. To collect the information, a database of patients treated with bronchial asthma was used and thus establish identification parameters to demonstrate the level of bronchial asthma found within the sample of 44 patients. Results:The rate of bronchial asthma exacerbations that occurs within the study sample is due to an uncontrolled manifestation of the disease, which is why adherence to treatment allows maintaining a better quality of life and thereby reducing unnecessary admissions. due to consequent exacerbations. In the general adult population, multiple clinical effects lead to lack of falling asleep and reduction in work activities due to consecutive exacerbations.Conclusion:It is concluded that patients treated with bronchial asthma attacks are due to the presence of tobacco consumption, abandonment of treatment and lack of knowledge of the management of the respiratory pathology
