As an outstanding performer, he has given concerts on the most important sta- ges both in poland and abroad. His interpretations of cello works will stay in liste- ners’ memories for long and his performances of Fryderyk chopin’s compositions will undoubtedly go down in history. Artistic renditions created by him have enriched our country’s music culture, thus adding a new value to the field of performing arts. stanisław Firlej is also an excellent pedagogue, mentor for many generations of artists who now form polish music elite. He has been capable to educate such outstanding cellists thanks to his peculiarly individual method of teaching instrument performance. in the professor’s view, the process of training a cellist (irrespective of their age, abilities and skill level) cannot be separated from the musical and emotional content of the performed compositions.
