Extensions of Locally Compact Abelian, Torsion-Free Groups by Compact Torsion Abelian Groups
Journal Title: Journal of Advances in Mathematics and Computer Science - Year 2017, Vol 22, Issue 4
Abstract
Let X be a compact torsion abelian group. In this paper, we show that an extension of Fp by X splits where Fp is the p-adic number group and p a prime number. Also, we show that an extension of a torsion-free, non-divisible LCA group by X is not split.

A Multi-Regions SIRS Discrete Epidemic Model With a Travel-Blocking Vicinity Optimal Control Approach on Cells
In Susceptible-Infected-Removed-Susceptible (SIRS) compartmental models, we can suppose that a removed population has lost its immunity after being healed from an infection, and then, it moves to the susceptible compartm...
An Efficient CRT Based Reverse Converter for {22n+1-1, 2n-1, 22n-1} Moduli Set
This paper presents a reverse converter for the moduli set {22n+1-1, 2n-1, 22n-1} using a Chinese Remainder Theorem (CRT) algorithm and reverse method of data conversion. We compare our result with other converters found...
A Design of a Low-Reynolds Number Airfoil that Leads to the Formation of Separation Bubbles at the Leading Edge
The aerodynamics of airfoils at low Reynolds numbers (Re) has become increasingly important from both fundamental and industrial points of view, due to recent developments in small wind turbines, small-unmanned aerial ve...
SEIRS Model for Pediatrics with Lower Respiratory Tract Infection
The ability of the immune system to detect and eliminate most pathogens is essential for the survival of lower respiratory tract infection in 2016 by Olubadeji [1]. Lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) constituted th...
General Version of Gauss-type Proximal Point Method and Its Uniform Convergence Analysis for Metrically Regular Mappings
We study the uniform convergence of the general version of Gauss-type proximal point algorithm (GG-PPA), introduced by Alom et al. [1], for solving the parametric generalized equations y ∈ T(x), where T : X 2Y is a set...
