Journal Title: Вісник Київського національного університету імені Тараса Шевченка. Економіка. - Year 2014, Vol 1, Issue 154
Abstract
The authors consider the main aspects of state regulation of banks and non-bank financial intermediaries' activity in Ukraine. The study gives an explanation of main features of regulatory authority as to activity of financial intermediaries and identifies three models for financial intermediaries' state regulation: "the sectional model", "the twin peaks model" and "the single regulator supervisory model". The results of the research allow drawing some conclusions. According to Ukrainian sectional model of financial intermediaries' activity, the state regulation bodies are comprised in two groups: the authorized bodies (the National Bank of Ukraine, National Securities and Stock Market Commission and the National Commission on the Regulation of the Financial Services Markets) and other state agencies (the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine). The place of self-regulatory organization in state regulation of financial intermediary's activity is determined.
