Features of health and principles of preventing psychosomatic and psychological disorders in schoolchildren from the zone of military conflict

Abstract
Background. To improve the prevention of the development and progression of psychosomatic diseases, psychological deviations in school-age children from the zone of military conflict was the purpose of our study. Materials and methods. A clinical and paraclinical survey was performed in 286 schoolchildren living in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and immigrants from these places. Cardiointervalography was use to determine stress levels, followed by analysis of heart rate variability. Psychological features were study using following techniques: a multidimensional assessment of children’s anxiety, the internal picture of health, Lüscher test. The intensity of the stress-regulating systems was evaluated taking into account the indicators of cortisol, adrenaline, norepinephrine, lipid peroxidation products, serotonin, melatonin, reduced glutathione, glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase activity. Results. The paper presents the features of the health status of children, the nature of psychological deviations, taking into account the level of psycoemotional stress. Data on the imbalance of stress-regulating system indicators are presented. Suggestions for medical and psychological support of these patients are given. Conclusions. Most children from the conflict zone have an increased level of emotional stress, which provokes the activation of stress-regulating systems. This affects the formation of psychological deviations and changes in health status, which makes it necessary to take measures for its prevention.
