Features of the Application of Project Method in the Process of Teaching of Psychological Disciplines

Abstract

The article investigates the problem of the project method in the educational process of higher education. The particular efficacy of the project method is emphasized as a means of forming and development of the cognitive motivation of students. The experience of the application of project-based learning in the process of teaching psychological disciplines is analyzed. The examples of the use of professionally oriented tasks of project in the preparation of students of different specialties are provided. According to the author, the topical project method becomes widespread in the context of national education competence-oriented education. The major organizational and pedagogical conditions, which significantly influence the efficiency of project-based learning, are analyzed. In the following article, the existence of a diversity of views of scientists on the problem of the sequence and contents of the stages of the work on the project is acknowledged. According to the conclusion of the author of the article, the most universal and affordable is the five-phased scheme of the project. It includes the following steps as a search, analytical, practical, presentation and checklist. It is asserted that this scheme covers and reflects the main aspects of work on educational projects, at the same time doesn’t refine the latest and dispels the attention. Based on the analysis carried out in the article of contemporary educational research problems use of own project method , the author concluded that the application of project method in the training of future specialists promotes cognitive motivation and activity of students; integration and deepening of previously acquired knowledge and skills; development of important competencies; provides an opportunity to gain experience in applying the knowledge gained to solve practical, professionally-oriented tasks.
