Foreign policy strategy of Thailand after the military coup of 2014

Abstract

This article deals with the transformation of the foreign policy strategy of the Kingdom of Thailand after the military coup of 2014. The regulatory framework of foreign policy, which emphasizes the most important military and defense component of this area, is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the goals, objectives and principles of Thailand in the international arena. The author also determines special place of ASEAN in a new foreign policy strategy of Thailand and the importance of bilateral cooperation with the countries of South East Asia today. Deteriorating of the relations of Kingdom with Western countries and the USA is underlined. Some predictions about the future of Thai-Chinese relations is provides.
