FORMATION OF MATHEMATICAL COMPETENCE IN THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE TEACHERS OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Abstract
Different definitions of the concept "mathematical competence", its essence, structure are considered in the article. The stages of the formation of professional mathematical competence, the choice of ways and methods for implementing competence ideas in the process of mathematical preparation of high school students are revealed. It emphasizes the special role of this competence of students in the intellectual development of the individual, the formation of abstract thinking, the ability to self-esteem and self-reflection. The ways of forming mathematical competence by means of mathematics in the course of the lessons and after-hours work are given.
