FORMATION OF SOCIOCULTURAL COMPETENCE IN STUDENTS WHO ARE NOT PHILOLOGISTS

Abstract
The concept of «Socio-Cultural Competence» is analyzed in this article. The article shows that the socio-cultural competence, along with the demonstration of speech, also covers other spheres: it is the understanding of peculiarities, values, and attitudes of their own culture as well as other cultures and the value attitude to the own and different culture. The components of the socio-cultural competence are determined. Attention is paid to the research of how socio-cultural competence is formed in students with non-philological profiles. This can be achieved through the participation in the common collective work in both the university, and through the cooperation with associations, and voluntary activities within Ukraine and abroad. These activities consist of tourism, as well as participation in projects within the context of the teaching and educational process during the classroom teaching and leisure time.
