‘FOUR INTELLECTUAL AND CULTURED WOMEN’ IN THE PLAY THREE SISTERS

Abstract
In this article the reasons of impossibility of mutual understanding between sisters Prozorovy and their sister-in-law Natasha in A.P. Chekhov’s play Three sisters are considered. The sisters and Natasha are representatives of different cultural paradigms which are bookish and folk. At the same time the folk tradition in Natasha’s image is limited to its town, bourgeois variant.
