FRACTIONAL FLOW RESERVE (FFR)

Abstract
FFR is a form of coronary artery measurement that provides valuable information about the functional significance of coronary artery blockade. It works on a simple hemodynamic principle that the more severe the blockade, the more would be the pressure drop beyond the blockade. Depending upon the amount of pressure changes, objective calculation of blood flow changes can also be calculated which can provide the objective base to take decision in the management of a coronary artery disease patient, i.e. whether to go for angioplasty or manage the patient medically.
