General trends of manufacturing in Ukraine in the second half of XIX – early of XX century

Abstract
The features of formation and development of major manufacturing industries of Ukrainian provinces of the Russian Empire in the late nineteenth – early of twentieth century. The emphasis is put on key industries, their regional features of development. The influence of the main factors in the dynamics of the industry is investigated. The manufacturing industry, pushing into the background manufacture, subjugated peasant crafts, supplanting the urban craft. It has become a determining factor in the industrial area-based specialization.
