GENRE PECULIARITY OF THE PROSE POEM “THE SWING” BY IVAN BUNIN

Abstract
This article analyzes the genre peculiarity of the prose poem “The Swing” by Ivan Bunin that was included into a collection “Dark Avenues”. Authors’ attention is focused on the genre specificity particularities of the prose poem in Ivan Bunin’s legacy. The authors studied and accentuated the main traits that characterize them prose poem. The particularities of the narration, storyline, landscape, space and time of this work witness that “The Swing” belongs to the genre of prose poem. The authors prove the idea that the prose poem of Ivan Bunin concentrates all those conclusions that he makes in the novellas and stories of the cyclus “Dark Avenues”.
